We worked together for a few years in the early 90′s and I have always felt him to be a very special friend. I always feel a sort of spiritual renewal after spending time with Nick…he is always thoughtful, brilliant and witty. To receive your new CD really capped the memory of that day for sure. I have now listened to it several times and am enjoying it immensely! I recently revisited the music of Gram Parsons & Emmy Lou and think he would have delighted in singing some of your songs. I didn’t know what to expect and on the first cut, ” Soap Opera Life” , being a fan of early Rockabilly I thought of Wanda Jackson . I like all the cuts but especially the first and “Fair Time”,” Make It Snappy”( evoking Wanda to me again), and ” Cholene”. Wonderful singing and playing all the way thru. The packaging was also a highlight, especially with the omission of the plastic case which I have always disliked about the CD format. Great photo of my friend and Ace mechanic, John W. also.
